Blog Post: Progress Report

I have recently created a small journal to record how I am feeling before, after and during my one hour activity of building a model kit.

Overall the journal is pretty representative of how the project is going along, I feel better after and during the creation process beyond the one time where I broke a piece, but that is mostly a personal error and I fixed it with some super glue.

I'll be posting my journal as a separate post at the end of the cycle. Sadly due to the time constraint I think I will only be able to partially finish the model but will be continuing this cycle as it has overall boosted my sentiments and motivation surrounding school as I get a chance to separate away from the computer for work and actually go technology-less for the hour, usually a bit longer because I get drawn into doing something and I wish to complete it before the hours end.

So far I have painted, detailed and made the backpack as well as the head of the model kit. I hope to at least finish a few more things before the end of the class.

Here below is the photo of the back pack, then the head as well as some in progress shots of me putting them together.

A general statement could be given about this, and it would simply be that I'm having fun. I'm enjoying learning how to properly cut, sand and file things down while also painting and lining the armour. And most of the time I am passing the hour mark as it flies by. I am also spending the most amount of time on the decals and colouring the details properly. In the last photo you can see the white tubes that I painted, the mask I hazed with a metallic pen and the green + red cameras I painted their true colours as they were only grey before hand.
