My Project Reflection

Alright, now it's time to speak a bit as to WHY I chose to do this for my Genius Hour Blog and Project.

I think what really spoke to me was the concept behind working with your hands on such a small object, especially based in a digital world now. I remember as a child playing with lego but it's been years since I've 'built' anything for myself. I think the last thing I built in that kind of way would be my desktop back in 2012, I've been upgrading and caring for it since but it's not the same as getting pieces and placing them together to create something so...

I just wanted to create something. I wanted to make something and have something to display. I just felt compelled to do something that I loved and find enjoyment in something completely different than what I expected to do initially.

From that stemmed the idea that  I should finally do something that I've been waiting and procrastinating on doing, and getting into the thing, my friends were doing in building kits. So with the help of my friends, I purchased a kit, got some tools from them, and bought some paints.

That's where it all began, after that, I set aside sometime every day to work on it. Sometimes only 30 minutes sometimes 2 hours but either way, time was set aside for the specific purpose of working on the project. This was a great idea in the beginning since I was still learning but as I got better at it, the longer I wanted to work on it and the sadder I got when my timer went off.

But I think from that, I realized that this was working, I was feeling better about myself, having more fun throughout the day knowing that I'll have time off to work on the project, and overall felt like I was learning a fun little skill to continue onwards after this class is done.
